<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cathode structure for an electron tube that facilitates improving a quick action property of a cathode of an electron gun. <P>SOLUTION: The electron gun includes the cathode 11, an anode 12 mounted in front of the cathode, and a heater 13 arranged behind the cathode 11 for heating the cathode around a tube axis m. Furthermore, a heater supporting member 16 for supporting the heater 13, and a reflection cylinder 17 for reflecting heat from the heater 13 and efficiently heating the cathode 11 are mounted. The heater supporting member 16 is fixed on the reflection cylinder 17 by a fixing member 18.
