<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for estimating a magnetic pole position capable of precisely estimating the magnetic pole position even at operation end where the operation range is physically limited. <P>SOLUTION: The winding of a motor is applied with a current in a plurality of current phases and the position of magnetic pole is estimated based on movement direction. In this process, only when the movement direction is zero, the polarity of the current is inverted to re-determine movement direction. When the movement direction after polarity inversion of the current is zero, the movement direction before polarity inversion of the current is determined to be zero as well. In case of + or -, the movement direction before polarity inversion of the current is determined to be opposite to the movement direction after polarity inversion. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
