PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealed secondary battery for reducing cost and enhancing productivity and preventing an electrolyte from getting ignited. SOLUTION: The lithium ion battery includes an electrode group with a cathode and an anode arranged with a separator in-between, a nonaqueous electrolyte solution immersing the electrode group, a battery cover 22 with a pouring portt of the electrolyte formed and sealing the battery can housing the electrode group and the electrolyte solution, and a safety valve 20 for sealing the pouring port of the battery cover 22. The safety valve 20 gets a sleeve 4 and valve body 10 inserted in the pouring port beforehand and is mounted into the pouring port by expanding a cylindrical member 1 from an inner side by pulling out a core metal 2 and compressing a cylindrical part 8 of the sleeve 4.
