<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fire power regulator in a gas cooker in which fire power can be automatically regulated to prevent flames from overflowing around a heated object. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The fire power regulator in the gas cooker includes a measuring means 13 arranged to look down at the gas cooker 1 and measuring temperature distribution in a predetermined range around a burner 2 provided at the gas cooker 1. Whether the flames of the burner 2 have overflowed around the heated object P is discriminated based on the temperature difference between the heated object P on the burner 2 and its periphery measured by the measuring means 13, and when discriminating that the flames overflowed, the fire power of the burner 2 is weakened. The size of the heated object P is discriminated based on the temperature difference between the heated object P on the burner 2 and its periphery measured by the measuring means 13. The fire power of the burner 2 is regulated according to the discriminated size of the heated object P to prevent the flames from overflowing around the heated object P.
