摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a super-resolution microscope for performing phase modulation without causing loss of light quantity of erasing light and inducing a remarkable super-resolution function with absolute minimum erasing light power. SOLUTION: The super-resolution microscope includes: a light source part 20 which emits first illuminating light that allows substance in a sample 63 to emit light by exciting it from a stable state to a first quantum state and second illuminating light that suppresses such light emission by allowing the substance to transit to another quantum state further so as to partially spatially superpose them each other; an illumination optical system which includes a microscope objective 62 condensing and irradiating the first illuminating light and the second illuminating light from the light source part 20 on the sample 63; a detection part 50 which detects a photo-responsive signal emitted from the sample 63 by irradiation with the first illuminating light and the second illuminating light; and a spatial modulation optical element 1 which is arranged in an optical path of the optical system including the microscope objective 62, has a modulation area 3 for spatially modulating a part of the second illuminating light, and allows the microscope objective 62 to condense the light on the sample 63 so that the first illuminating light may have a maximal value and the second illuminating light may have a minimal value.
