Provided are a drive signal generator, and an optical scanning device and an image display device equipped with same, with which it is possible to shorten the time required to generate drive signals for an optical scanning element by low pass-filtering and notch-filtering a sawtooth waveform signal. The components include a first storage unit (10) that stores data for a first processing signal (S11) from a sawtooth waveform signal (S10) that varies linearly and that has been low pass-filtered; a parameter determination unit (12) that determines parameters for notch-filtering; a filter unit (11) that uses the parameters determined by the parameter determination unit (12) to perform notch-filtering of the first processing signal (S11) read from the first storage unit (10) and generates a second processing signal (S12); a second storage unit (14) that stores the data for the second processing signal (S12) generated by the filter unit (11); and a drive signal generation unit (15) that reads the data for the second processing signal (S12) from the second storage unit (14) and converts the signal into analog with a clock signal at a prescribed frequency, to generate a drive signal (S1).
