<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively improve excellent fitness to the body. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The protector for baseball or softball includes: a pad part 1 for chest and abdominal parts for covering the front surface of chest and abdominal parts in the state of being mounted on the upper half body; a pad part 2 for a flank part capable of covering the flank part; and a mounting member 3 which makes mounting on the upper half body possible in the state of surrounding and constraining the upper half body. The mounting member 3 is connected to the pad part 2 for the flank part such that the pad part 2 for the flank part covers the flank part in the state of bending the boundary part 4 of the pad part 1 for the chest and abdominal part and the pad part 2 for the flank part by the pulling action of the mounting member in the state of being mounted on the upper half body, and a through part 5 passing through to the front surface and the back surface is formed at the boundary part 4 of the pad part 1 for the chest and abdominal part and the pad part 2 for the flank part.
