<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device which performs FRC (Frame Rate Converter) processing by motion compensation when performing multi-view display, can improve image quality while raising moving video response. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The image display device is provided with: a liquid crystal display 16 which simultaneously displays a plurality of images corresponding to either a plurality of eye field angles within a frame, and can provide visible images different from a position in another eye field angle; a FRC unit 10 which converts a number of frames by interpolating image signals subjected to motion compensation processing between frames of input image signals; and a control unit 14 which outputs a control signal to notify the number of images in a frame to be displayed on the liquid crystal display 16 to the FRC unit 10. The FRC unit 10 composes a detection range of motion vectors for every images in a frame based on a control signal output from the control unit 14, and detects the motion vector in the detection range of the composed motion vector.
