<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cotyloid implant for hip prosthesis, co-operating in articulation with a femoral head. <P>SOLUTION: This cotyloid implant includes: a first type of insert 2 having an inner spherical cavity 2a for mounting a mobile hemispherical core 4 having an inner hemispherical cavity 4a or a second type of insert having an inner hemispherical cavity designed to co-operate in articulation with the femoral head; and a hemispherical metal-made shell 1 fixed in the base of the cotyloid cavity of the hip bone, wherein the shell 1 defines an inner cavity 1a having arrangements for selectively fixed mounting of the first type of insert 2 or the second type of insert, and the inner cavity 1a of the shell 1 co-operates with an engagement arrangement of the outer surface of the first type of insert 2 or the second type of insert to perform fixing by locking action. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
