<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a (Z,Z)-1,4-dihalo-1,3-butadiene compound and a method for easily and efficiently producing the compound. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The method for producing a (Z,Z)-1,4-dihalo-1,3-butadiene compound expressed by general formula (3) comprises the reaction of a terminal acetylene compound expressed by general formula (1) with a trihaloacetic acid halide expressed by general formula (2) in the presence of a rhodium compound catalyst.
