<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a labyrinth seal and a rotary machine equipped therewith capable of attaching a seal member to a rotary shaft without detaching a portion with a larger radial dimension from the rotary shaft even if the portion is joined to the rotary shaft, and capable of properly carrying out sealing by securing a minute clearance without causing seizure not only in a large or medium rotary machine, but even in a small or subminiature rotary machine. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The labyrinth seal includes a seal member 9 having an inner circumference face 11c surrounding the rotary shaft 5 and formed with a labyrinth structure on the inner circumference face 13, and a ring like member 13 surrounding and supporting an outer circumference face 15 of the seal member 9. The seal member 9 is divided into a first divided part 9a and a second divided part 9b respectively having a substantially half circumference portion of the inner circumference face 13, and the ring like member 13 can be attached from an axial direction of the rotary shaft 5 with respect to the outer circumference face 15 of the seal member 9 surrounding the rotary shaft 5.
