<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an actuator for optical scanning which has high flexibility of layout and has an excellent driving efficiency, and to provide an optical scanning type sensor and an object detector. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The actuator for optical scanning includes: a first holding member which holds a first optical element which transmits, refracts or reflects light; a first driving means which drives the first holding member in a predetermined direction with respect to a base member; a first supporting means which connects the base member and the first holding member together and supports the first holding member displaceably with respect to the base member; a second holding member which is located at a position closer to a side at which the light emitted from the first optical element advances than the first holding member and which holds a second optical element which receives the light transmitted, refracted or reflected by the first optical element and transmits, refracts or reflects the received light; a second driving means which drives the second holding member in a direction different from the direction in which the first driving means drives the first holding member; and a second supporting means which connects the base member and the second holding member together and supports the second holding member displaceably with respect to the base member.
