<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image forming apparatus to/from which a photoreceptor unit constituted by integrally attaching a plurality of photoreceptors is attached/detached, and which has improved accuracy in detecting whether a photoreceptor unit is new. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 1 includes: the photoreceptor unit 28 which can be attached to/detached from a body case 2 and to which the plurality of photoreceptors are attached as shown by Fig.1; a phase detection means which detects rotational phases of the respective photoreceptors; a storage means in which a new article phase pattern that is the combination of the rotational phases of the photoreceptors when the photoreceptor unit is new is stored; and a new-article and old-article detection means 55 which decides whether or not the phase patterns of the two or more photoreceptors detected by the phase detection means agree with the new article phase pattern, and decides that the photoreceptor unit is new when they agree with each other. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
