<p>Bonding agents for agglomerating mineral fines and/or mineral concentrates consists of a mixture of an alkali metal silicate, and a curing agent selected from carbonates, bicarbonates and/or sesquicarbonates of alkali metals. The process is simpler than methods involving the curing of the alkali metal silicates by carbonation with carbon dioxide, and provides equally good products. Drying and heating stages are also either eliminated or reduced in duration. The mineral fines and/or concentrates can be easily converted into forms as pellets or briquettes.</p> |
