Hydrogen peroxide prodn. at high temp. Production of H2O2 by air oxidation of a 2 degrees alcohol (e.g. isopropyl alcohol) at >=165 degrees C, in the presence of an inert solvent such as an acetate ester (nC3H7.O.COCH3) and in the absence of heavy metal ions. The process is pref. carried out under sufficient pressure to maintain the reaction mixt. in the liquid phase (50-2000 lb. in.-2). Reduced production of organic peroxides results, making the process safer.
|
