<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire adapted to further improve driving performance and braking performance on an ice and snow covered road while improving water discharge performance and suppressing lateral slipping on the ice and snow covered road. <P>SOLUTION: In the pneumatic tire 1A, a circumferential groove 32 extending along the tire circumferential direction is formed by a land section 20 constituting a tread 10 coming into contact with a road surface. A smooth groove section 60 where the surface of a groove bottom 32a of the circumferential groove 32 is smooth, and an in-groove land section 70 raised toward the tread 10 than the groove bottom 32a of the circumferential groove 32 are formed in the circumferential groove 32. A plurality of thin grooves 80 extending along a tread width direction are formed in the in-groove land section 70.
