<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat mercury lamp and a light-emitting device, capable of improving stability of light emission. <P>SOLUTION: Infrared-ray reflecting layers 40 are formed on an outer face of a peripheral-face wall 24 and at a region further at an outer periphery side of an outer periphery edge of a circular part 31 of a light-transmitting electrode 30 at the outer face of a front substrate 22. With these infrared-ray reflecting layers 40, infrared rays emitted at an inside space 28 during discharge at the peripheral face wall 24 and at an outer edge part of the front substrate 22 are reflected. With this, temperature retention at a non-discharge area A formed at the periphery face wall 24 is secured. Therefore, mercury is prevented from remaining as liquid around the non-discharge area A, and at the same time, temperature in the inside space 28 as a whole is raised and maintained at a temperature in which mercury can evaporate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
