<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display allowing the screen size thereof to be enlarged without shortening the life of a fluorescent tube. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display has at least: a rectangular liquid crystal display panel; and a backlight disposed on the rear surface of the liquid crystal display panel. The backlight has: a plurality of fluorescent tubes whose tube axial directions are parallel to the short side of the liquid crystal display panel and which are arranged side by side along the long side of the liquid crystal display panel; and a frame housing the fluorescent tubes, and distances between the frame and each fluorescent tube are different at both ends of the fluorescent tube. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
