A hinged flap especially for fitting to furniture has a hollow construction with integral mountings for securing one part of the hinge and with the other part of the hinge secured to the furniture by a clip fitting onto a rail or other grip. This provides simple removal of the flap as one complete module. The flap incorporates a curved rack (34) which is engaged by a retarding mechanism on the hinge. Other fittings include sockets (100, 31) for securing the hinge and a pivot socket (32) about which the hinge swings.
