<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety device for an automobile seat, capable of reducing such a risk that a seated person may slide under the lap strap of a seat belt. <P>SOLUTION: The safety device for the automobile seat comprises the seat belt including at least one upper anchor element arranged near the edge or the upper end of a backrest and at least two lower anchor elements 31 provided on both sides of the seat face of the seat so that one is unlockable and the other is not unlockable, an impact detecting means for detecting impact which a vehicle receives, and a traction means 4 to be operated only in accordance with information delivered from the impact detecting means for moving at least one of the lower anchor elements 31 under the seat. It also includes a means 5 for moving the lower anchor element 31 in front of the seat.
