<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the uniformity of a green tire by making uniform carcass cord passes between bead cores. Ž<P>SOLUTION: After expanding the diameter of a bead locking ring 8, a bead core assembly 4 inserted externally in a position located outside, in the radial direction, of a cylindrical carcass tube 2 and also, outside, in the axial direction, of a center drum 6, is immobilized while constricting the carcass tube 2, between the bead core assembly 4 and the bead locking ring 8. In addition, the carcass tube 2 is tensely installed to the outside of the radial direction between the bead core assemblies 4 and 4 immobilized by the bead locking ring 8 as a result of the diametral expansion of the center drum 6. Thereafter, the bead locking ring 8 is traversely transferred to the inside of the axial direction, and thereby, the inside surface of the bead core 4a is brought into contact with the outside surface of the center drum 6 through the carcass tube 2.
