<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a living body observation device and a living body observation method capable of arranging a marker in a non-intrusive manner and also exactly and easily arranging the marker at a desired observation portion. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The living body observation device includes: a stabilizer that suppresses vibration of a living body to which the marker is applied; an observation imaging means that forms an observation image of the living body; a vibration-detection imaging means that forms an image with light from the marker; a control means that calculates displacement vector of the marker from the image picked up by the vibration-detection imaging means; and an objective lens drive means that is capable of driving according to the displacement vector. The stabilizer includes: a cylinder member that does not obstruct observation by an objective lens; a movable member that is constituted to be separable in the cylinder member, suppresses vibration in an optical axis direction out of the vibration of the living body and allows movement of the living body in a direction perpendicular to an optical axis; and a transparent member that is positioned at the edge of the movable member and has a living body contact surface to which one or more markers are applied.
