<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure that holds an internal space by closing an upper part with a continuous top member and supporting a lower part by a columnar member in a structure constructed by combining a plurality of block bodies, and a method for using the structure as a rainwater storage tank. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This construction method of the rainwater storage tank includes constructing the block body forming a cross orthogonal dome block 1 using structural materials such as concrete, steel and synthetic resin into approximately cross shape having an overlap part and portions projected by the required moderate length from the overlap part when semicircular, horseshoe-shaped and portal members are mutually crossed at right-angles, and shaped to have openings 4-7 in all directions (longitudinal and lateral directions); juxtaposing a plurality of cross orthogonal dome blocks 1 each with a column part 3, a top plate 2 and a sidewall integrated, to construct the column parts, the top plates and the sidewalls simultaneously; and filling concrete or the like from the outside into four corner cavity parts of each block formed after the completion of installation to integrate the respective blocks.
