PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the cooling performance of an automobile air conditioning unit having at least one sub heat consumption branch part while preventing the frosting thereof. SOLUTION: The automobile air conditioning unit has a cooling circuit which is provided with a main consumption branch part having a compressor 10, a condenser 12 and an evaporator 20. The air conditioning unit has at least one sub consumption branch part connected in parallel to the main consumption branch part and having a cold accumulator 30 and its evaporator 28. The air conditioning unit also has one stop valve 16 arranged in front of each evaporator. After an operation phase for charging the cold accumulator, the stop valve in the main consumption branch part is periodically opened only for a predetermined opening time which depends on specified operation parameters. The substantial operation parameters are an air inlet temperature and an air mass flow amount in the evaporator of the main consumption branch part. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
