<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operating device of a wrench for fastening a nut capable of automatically performing fastening operation of the wrench as a hand tool by an operating mechanism of a robot. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The operating device of the wrench for fastening a nut is equipped with a hand portion 4 holding the wrench 2 swingably, an operating robot 5 operating the hand portion 4 in a plurality of axial directions (X-axis, Y-axis, and Z-axis directions), and a strain gage 10 monitoring fastening operation force of the wrench 2 made by the hand portion 4. At a jaw portion 9 of the wrench 2, a chamfered portion 9c is formed on two spacial end faces sandwiched between jaws 9a and 9b which engage the nut 3n as a fastening object for smooth engagement of the nut 3n.
