It is possible to provide a content display device, a content display method, a program, and a recording medium which can provide read of each article to a user even when a plurality of contents displayed on a single screen are continuously read.  A television (100) is a content display device which can display a plurality of contents on a single screen and successively read character strings associated with the contents.  The television (100) has a setting unit (114) for setting the screen display state so as to notify the user that the content for which a character string is read can be distinguished from the other contents displayed on the screen.
