<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flexible user interface control device and a method capable of speedily performing various control or processing in an environment such as a home network by the use of simple remote control reduced in the number of keys as much as possible, and adapted to a new device or remote control. <P>SOLUTION: When an unknown device is detected in a system including a television receiver TV1, remote control information for the unknown device is downloaded from a host computer 2-20 out of the system, the assignment of a key of a remote control 2-11 is performed based on the remote control information, and a remote control guide is displayed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
