PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which stably forms a high-quality image by preventing density variation caused when image forming characteristic is largely changed by an environmental change or a change of a printing rate. SOLUTION: An interval of image quality control is controlled based on a plurality of density detection values detected continuously.
