<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system designed to prevent inducing misbindings and/or cloggings accompanied by grain culms posture disturbance due to mutual butting of a waste straw roots' evenly arranging plate and the root feet of fallen materials in an already bent state before charged into a threshing section, in a combine harvester including the above plate for making the root feet of waste straw conveyed via a waste straw conveyor from the threshing section. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The system has the following scheme: the changeover between a normal control mode and a fallen material control mode is conducted in conjunction with the speed-increasing operation of an existing operating means 35 functioning to increase the operating speed of a pretreatment section 4; wherein the normal control mode is such that the movement control of a waste straw roots' evenly arranging plate 71 toward the culms of waste straw by a waste straw roots' evenly arranging plate-moving apparatus 73 is conducted so as to match the plate 71 to a proper waste straw roots' evenly arranging position based on the detection result by a root feet detecting means 97, while the fallen material control mode is such that, irrespective of the above detection result, the plate 71 is forcedly moved in such a direction as to be set apart from the root feet of waste straw.
