<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a powerless rat-catching apparatus which is simply installed and removed, and continues to continuously catch and kill rats until a vessel is filled up without producing an operation sound. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The rat-catching apparatus lures the rats with a sound and a smell; attracts the rats into an inlet of a cylinder utilizing a habit therewith to prefer a small hole; forcedly advances the rats toward an outlet with a row of sharp long and short needles hanging down from the inner top surface of the cylinder over the full length thereof, and having retractability only in the direction of the outlet; and drops the rats into a container filled with an inert gas having a specific gravity heavier than air to choke the rats to death.
