<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a joint for a flexible pipe capable of inspecting gas leakage only by incorporating an O-shaped waterproof packing. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A clearance between the inner periphery of a socket part 3 of a joint body 5 and the outer periphery of a push ring 7, is sealed by the O-shaped waterproof packing 29. A selectively permeable member 26 permeating gas without permeating a solid and liquid, is integrally embedded in the packing axis direction in several places in the circumferential direction of the O-shaped waterproof packing 29.
