<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for knitting a cylindrical knit by use of a flat knitting machine by which the strength of a tightening force in an optional region can be regulated without utilizing a special mechanism by using an elastic yarn and one yarn-feeding port. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The method for knitting the cylindrical knit, while inserting an elastic yarn into an orbiting course by a ground yarn by using the flat knitting machine having at least front and back one pair of needle beds, provides the difference of the tightening force at each position in the cylindrical knit by partially changing the number of insertion times, such as one to multiple times, of the elastic yarn to the orbiting course by the ground yarn by using one elastic yarn.
