Disclosed is an azo pigment which has excellent color characteristics such as coloring power and hue, while exhibiting excellent durability such as light resistance.  A pigment dispersion is also disclosed. Specifically disclosed is an azo pigment represented by general formula (1), a tautomer thereof, or a salt or hydrate of same. (In general formula (1), G represents a hydrogen atom, an aliphatic group, an aryl group, a heterocyclic group, an acyl group, an aliphatic oxycarbonyl group, a carbamoyl group or a sulfonyl group; R1 represents an amino group, an aliphatic oxy group, an aliphatic group, an aryl group or a heterocyclic group; R2 represents a substituent; A represents an aromatic 5-6 membered heterocyclic group; m represents an integer of 0-5; and n represents an integer of 1-4.  When n = 2, the formula represents a dimer linked through R1, R2, A or G; when n = 3, the formula represents a trimer linked through R1, R2, A or G; and when n = 4, the formula represents a tetramer linked through R1, R2, A or G.)
