<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect a metal particle in oil. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A metal particle inspecting system includes a sensor body 2 penetrating a member used for oil, which oil passes through, and mounted; a mounting unit for mounting the sensor body 2 to the member used for oil, electrode groups 11 to 15, provided on the distal end of the sensor body 2 which penetrates the member used for oil to the electrode groups; an absorbing unit 17 for absorbing metal particles mixed in oil to the electrode groups; and electrical circuits 21 to 27, 31 to 33 in which electrodes in the electrode groups are shorted by metal particles absorbed by the absorbing unit 17. The electrode group has a center electrode 11, placed on the center of the sensor body 2 and a plurality of ring-like electrodes 12 to 15, formed concentric with the central electrode 11 as a center.
