<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suitable image even when a digital camera is actuated under an emergency photographing condition for shortening a start time. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The digital camera is provided with: an imaging unit which images a subject and acquires an image signal; a power switch for instructing a start of the camera; a specification unit which specifies one of a first mode for a normal start and a second mode for making a start under the emergency photography condition for shortening the start time; a control unit which sets the emergency photography condition for respective portions of the camera including the imaging unit when the specification unit specifies the second mode and the power switch is operated for longer than a predetermined time; and an image processing unit that performs processing for at least one of trimming, electronic hand shake correction, luminance adjustment, saturation adjustment, and noise removal on the image signal that the imaging unit acquires in the second mode.
