<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the much longer continuation of traveling of a vehicle only with the power of a motor in an abnormal time when a power generator can not be normally driven. <P>SOLUTION: When prescribed abnormality causing impossibility of the normal driving of a first motor (MG1) occurs within a range where the gate shielding of an invertor for driving the first motor is possible, the island operation of an engine is performed with the highest engine speed Nemax in such a state that an invertor for the first motor is gate-shifted (S150, S160), and a target voltage VH* of a high voltage system is set so that the maximum generated power which can be generated by the first motor which revolves with the number of revolutions Nm1, and generates a counter-electromotive power can be generated, and the driving of a booster circuit is controlled so that the voltage VH of the high voltage system becomes the set target voltage VH* (S180, S190), and a second motor (MG) is controlled so that a vehicle can travel with request torque Tr* within the range of the input/output restriction Win and Wout of a battery (S110 to S150).
