<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a design document registration method capable of preventing a fault from reoccurring, a fault instance regeneration method, a design support device, a design support program and a computer readable-recording medium. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Design documents are read (S11). Next, the design documents are split into design units (S12). Next, it is determined whether the split design units are reused from the existing design documents or not (S13). When the split design units are reused from the existing design documents, the retrieval of the existing design documents is allowed (YES in S13, S14). The existing documents are retrieved by use of product IDs. Design units of the existing design documents are allowed, and a link with a "reuse" tag is set by using a link setting section 16 (S15). A control section sets a link with fault instances linked in design units of the existing design documents (S16), and saves the fault instances in a design document database 22 (S17).
