<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a biomolecular sequence such as DNA from being identified wrongly. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A sequence identification support apparatus 1 includes: a double-gate transistor array 2; a drive circuit 3 that drives the double-gate transistor array 2; spots 49 dotted about a light-receiving surface of the double-gate transistor array 2; an excitation light radiation device 4 that irradiates the double-gate transistor array 2 with excitation light; a controller 5 that processes an image taken by the double-gate transistor array 2; and an output device 6 that performs output with a signal output from the controller 5. The controller 5 recognizes that double-gate transistors 20 corresponding to pixels P1 and P2 of the image obtained in the double-gate transistor array 2 are defective, and rewrites grayscale data of the pixels P1 and P2 to zero.
