The present invention provides a service provider system for effecting audio/video communications, which comprises: a web server which provides a telephone icon or button together with connection information for making a telephone call on a user system, and which transmits a telephone identifier (LN) assigned to the telephone icon or button in question to the user system when a user clicks on the icon or button; and a gateway module which receives a request for call setup for the purpose of audio/video communication from the user system, issues the user system with a user identifier (DN) for identification from other users and transmits the user identifier (DN) to the user system, relays communications between the user system and a telephone which is connected to an IP-based telephone exchange, and effects audio/video communications. Additionally the Web server, simultaneously, issues the user system with a telephone identifier (LN) assigned to the telephone icon or button in question on the Web server and issues the user system with a user identifier (DN) for identification from other users. |
