PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a frame, a seal-supporting structure, and an improved method of installing the same onto a filter such as a pleated filter. SOLUTION: A filter element 10 comprises a filter medium pack 12, a frame 14, an annular seal 18, and a sealing means 16 which is independent of the annular seal 18. The frame 14 is integrally bonded to the pleated filter medium pack 12 using a material constituting the frame 14, while keeping the frame 14 in a state of being integrally fixed to the pleated filter medium pack 12.
