The invention relates to a system, comprising an electric machine (1), which has a stator (2) and a rotor (3), and further comprising an infrared temperature sensor (10). In order to enable improved monitoring of the temperature of the rotor (3), according to the invention the detection field (11) of the infrared temperature sensor (10) is directed at the lateral surface of the rotor (3) through an opening (5) of the stator (2).
