The unit has a carrier (1) comprising a chip (2) and an antenna device that is provided in the form of an electrically conductive thread (3). An inlay (4) is fastened by a laminate composed of the carrier. A support pad (6) is fitted with the chip and provided in the form of a strap, where the antenna device is in contact with the support pad. The support pad consists of dielectric material such as flame retardant laminate or polyethylene terephthalate. The carrier is designed as a plastic strip. An independent claim is also included for a method for producing an identification unit.
