The generator (10) has a spacer (30) provided between sleeve-shaped components (18) such as sleeve (20) and chamber housing (24), for supporting the components against each other. The spacer is supported at a housing (12) and exhibits a set of contact areas for adjacent contact surfaces of the components. The spacer is designed in plate-shape and/or pressed against the propellant, where the spacer is flexibly prestressed as a filling body for the propellant in a main combustion chamber (16). The spacer extends in a plane perpendicular to a center axis of the generator.
