PURPOSE: A high rate microorganism reactor having upward swirling flow is provided to help smooth mixing and stirring of waste water, microorganism and air and prevent deposition of suspended material or microorganism. CONSTITUTION: A high rate microorganism reactor having upward swirling flow comprises: a microorganism reactor comprising a denitrification reaction tank(12), activation tank(14), nitrification tank(16) in the traverse direction; an air inlet pipe(50)(50a)(50b) which is connected to an ejector(40) and supplies air to the inside of the reactor; an air pump in water(121)(141)(161) which is separated from the reactor bottom by a support and has an outlet is mounted downwardly; an air inlet hose(123)(143)(163) which connected to the air pump from air inlet pipe; and a swirling flow member(200) in which integrally plural curved blades are placed to change air flow to upward swirling flow.
