<p>Spring loaded bottom element for the bending tool employed in a deep drawing press against which the counter pressure pad is bent pressed during the vertical bending operation, consists of a horizontal wedge profiled part against which the vertical pressure generated by the press operation is applied. It is held between two opposite wedge elements which are pressed against it horizontally by packs of horizontal disc springs applied from behind. To ensure continued alignment of the wedges, a second similar narrower element is positioned below the first horizontal wedge element, the second element being spring loaded from underneath. The wedge arrangement deflects the vertical pressure applied on the bottom of the tool by the working stroke of the press sideways by 90 degrees. This makes it possible to exert the counter pressure by horizontally positioned springs thereby avoiding an undue vertical extension of the tool necessitated by providing a pack of springs capable of exerting the required counter pressure.</p> |
