<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition/misfire detecting device and an ignition/misfire detecting method capable of detecting at least one of ignition and misfire even when an oxygen sensor is deteriorated with age. <P>SOLUTION: This ignition/misfire detecting device 10, 60 comprises the oxygen sensor 60 detecting oxygen concentration in a combustion chamber 40 for burning a fuel or the downstream of the combustion chamber, and a determining means 10 for determining at least one of the ignition of fuel and misfire on the basis of change rate of oxygen concentration detected by the oxygen sensor. The ignition/misfire detecting method includes: an oxygen concentration detecting step of detecting the oxygen concentration of the combustion chamber for burning the fuel or the downstream of the combustion chamber by using the oxygen sensor; and a determining step of determining at least one of the ignition of fuel and misfire on the basis of the change rate of the oxygen concentration detected in the oxygen concentration detecting step. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
