<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an alkylated aromatic compound by causing an aromatic hydrocarbon to react with an alcohol used as an alkylating agent which is obtained by hydrogenating a ketone in the presence of a metal catalyst, which method efficiently produces an alkylated aromatic compound such as cumene, and a method for producing phenol comprising the above process of obtaining cumene. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing an alkylated aromatic compound comprises a process of obtaining a reaction liquid comprising an alcohol by hydrogenating a ketone in the presence of a metal catalyst containing at least one species of elemental metal selected from the group consisting of copper, nickel, cobalt and rhenium (process 1), and a process of alkylating an aromatic compound, subsequent to causing the reaction liquid to pass through a filter, using the alcohol in the reaction liquid in the presence of a solid acid catalyst (process 2). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
