<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively suppress a deterioration in image quality caused by reflection of a foreign substance existing on an optical element, such as optical lowpass filter arranged in front of an imaging element on a photographed image. <P>SOLUTION: This imaging apparatus includes a photographing part for generating an image signal by performing photoelectrical conversion by the imaging element, a foreign substance information detecting part for detecting foreign substance information being information on at least the position of a foreign substance adhering to an optical element disposed in front of the imaging element on the basis of the image signal generated by the photographing part, a detecting part for detecting whether the position of the foreign substance detected by the foreign substance information detecting part overlaps an area satisfying a predetermined condition of a subject by analyzing the image signal of the subject generated previously by the photographing part, a composition changing part for changing a relative position between an image of the subject formed on the imaging element by a photographic lens and the imaging element, and a control part for changing the relative position by the composition changing part when the detecting part detects that the position of the foreign substance overlaps the area. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
