PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive installation device for an air conditioner high in work efficiency. SOLUTION: An installation plate 12 has an area smaller than that of an indoor unit 11 as a whole, and lengths in the lateral direction and vertical direction of the installation plate are set shorter than the length of the indoor unit 11. Lower parts at right and left both ends of the installation plate are cut to form notches 15, and slant edges 16 are formed so that the length in the lateral direction becomes shorter from upper ends of the notches 15 to the upper direction. Marks MK2 for the positioning of the vertical direction are formed on right and left both end lower sides of the installation plate 11, respectively. Thus, to make a refrigerant pipe of the indoor unit 11 face the outdoor side from the left part of the installation plate 11, an intersection point KT2 between an extension line L3 of the slant edge 16 on the left side of the installation plate 1 and a lateral line L4 passing through the mark MK2 is found and marked on the indoor wall. A piping hole is formed in the position of the intersection point KT2 of the indoor wall, and the refrigerant pipe is inserted to and penetrated through the piping hole to face the outdoor side.
