PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric double layer capacitor, capable of reliably leading out a plurality of electrode tabs from the desired positions of the end face of a capacitor element. SOLUTION: Polarizable electrode layers are formed on both surface sides of a beltlike metal foil, and the electrodes of a positive electrode and a negative electrode are obtained while the electrodes of the positive electrode and the negative electrode are wound so as to be superposed through a separator. The polarizable electrode layers formed on each metal foil are removed during the winding of the electrodes, the electrode tabs are mounted on the metal foil exposed by removal, and a plurality of the electrode tabs are fit at arbitrary positions by continuing the winding of the electrodes.
